Specifications and guide

Product Description

Prima Pine – Pine floor with lye and white oil – a bright, Nordic, and natural look.
Give your home a classic and bright look with this beautiful pine floor, treated with lye and white oil. With its wide plank size of 15x185 mm and the characteristic, calm structure of pine, the floor creates a harmonious and inviting atmosphere in both modern and traditional homes.

The lye treatment stops the wood's natural yellowing process, while the white oil adds a soft, white tone that highlights the wood's grain and provides an elegant, Nordic look. The result is a bright wooden floor with a natural and authentic feel, perfectly suited for Scandinavian interior design and bright rooms.

The floor is based on Prima sorting, which means a uniform and calm knot pattern with minimal fillings – ideal for those who desire a stylish and exclusive wooden floor with natural color variations and high quality.

To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, so that the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface are preserved, cracks and knots in this wood type will be filled with specially adapted wood filler and/or hot melt. Likewise, fallen out knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood type, so that color tone and structure are preserved. A Wiking pine plank floor is warm and pleasant to walk on, and has a natural play with knots and rounded edges, which emphasizes the width of the beautiful planks. Pine is a classic and popular wood type for floors in Scandinavian homes, especially due to its bright appearance and natural warmth.

Pine is categorized as a softwood floor and is more susceptible to signs of wear. However, these marks are easy to rectify through maintenance, and often most soft marks can disappear with just a floor wash or refreshing of the oil.

On the Brinell scale, which measures the wood's resistance to pressure and wear, pine typically ranks around 1.6–1.8 – depending on the growing location and the wood's density. This means that pine is more susceptible to pressure marks, scratches, and other signs of wear than harder wood types like oak or ash. Although pine is a soft wood type, many choose it for its natural charm and ability to develop a beautiful patina over time. With the right treatment, you can extend the floor's lifespan and give it a surface that is more resistant to everyday use.
