A Viking Floor supplied with oil has only received a basic treatment and must therefore have the final saturation after installation. The oil used at the factory is a breathable oil. Precisely because of this, you can choose to apply a soap saturation to the surface instead of continuing with oil. Oil for post-treatment is available with and without white pigment. Which one you should use depends on the desired end result. If the supplied surface is white-pigmented, saturation with a white-pigmented oil is usually chosen, but the surface can also be saturated with a neutral oil if you do not wish to lighten the wood's color further. If you wish to have a soap-saturated floor, this can also be done even if the surface is pre-oiled from the factory.

Wiking Gulve only uses environmentally friendly products from reputable suppliers. A lacquered Wiking Gulv has received several coats of lacquer to create a good and durable surface. A naturally lacquered floor has received 7 coats of lacquer, and a white-pigmented floor has received 8 coats of lacquer. The last 2 coats are an extra durable lacquer. After installation, the plank floor is ready for use, and if needed, you can advantageously treat it with Trip Trap lacquer care, which gives the lacquer a durable film and hides small scratches.

Lacquer gives the floor the most durable surface and prevents dirt from penetrating the wood. It provides a very smooth surface that is very easy to clean and also forms a water-repellent surface on the wood.

Therefore, never use unsuitable cleaning agents, as they may have a high content of soap or chemicals that can dry out the floor, cause stains, or discolour the surface.
