Specifications and guide

Product Description

Pine Prestige Prima – Light and exclusive pine flooring in extra wide planks and classic grading.
A pine floor from our exclusive Prestige series. The extra wide 235 mm planks create an elegant, calm, and luxurious floor appearance – perfect for open spaces and modern interiors where you desire a coherent and natural look.

The floor is treated with lye and white oil, which prevents the wood's natural yellowing and instead accentuates the light, warm color tones. The white oil also protects the wood and provides a beautiful, matte surface with a clear grain structure.

Prima grading is the most classic and uniform – with calm knot patterns and only a few small fillings. This makes the floor an ideal choice if you want a light and harmonious wooden floor with a natural, yet subdued expression.

To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, preserving the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface, this wood species will feature filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted sand filler and/or hotmelt. Similarly, fallen knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood species, maintaining color tone and structure. A Wiking pine plank floor is warm and comfortable to walk on, and has a natural interplay of knots and rounded edges that emphasize the width of the beautiful planks. Pine is a classic and popular wood species for floors in Scandinavian homes, especially due to its light appearance and natural warmth.

Pine is categorized as a softwood floor and is more susceptible to signs of wear. However, these marks are easy to rectify with maintenance, and often most soft marks can disappear with just a floor wash or refreshing of the oil.

On the Brinell scale, which measures wood's resistance to pressure and abrasion, pine typically ranges around 1.6–1.8 – depending on growing conditions and wood density. This means that pine is more susceptible to pressure marks, scratches, and other signs of wear than harder wood species like oak or ash. Although pine is a softwood, many choose it for its natural charm and ability to patinate beautifully over time. With the right treatment, the floor's lifespan can be extended, and it can be given a surface that is more resistant to everyday use.
