Product Description

REMAINING STOCK - WHILE SUPPLIES LAST.

Wiking Nordlys ‘Odin’ 15x155 – exclusive pine flooring in warm brown tones.

An elegant and characterful pine floor that combines natural beauty with modern durability. The floor is part of the Nordlys series, which brings together sustainable materials, Nordic design, and durable surfaces – created for those who want real wood in their home without compromising on functionality or quality.

The brown hardwax oil gives the wood a deep and warm glow, highlighting the pine's natural structure and grain patterns. The result is a floor with an inviting and exclusive atmosphere, adding both warmth and character to the room.

The floor has a brushed surface, where the soft grains in the wood have been removed. This provides a more robust and durable surface that can withstand everyday use and simultaneously feels comfortable to walk on. The combination of the dark oil and the natural structure makes 'Odin' a perfect choice for both modern and classic interiors – where a floor with depth, quality, and personality is desired.

To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, thus preserving the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface, this wood type will feature the filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted sanding compound and/or hotmelt. Similarly, fallen knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood type, so that color tone and structure are preserved.

A Wiking pine plank floor is warm and comfortable to walk on, and has a natural play with knots and rounded edges, which highlight the width of the beautiful planks. Pine is a classic and popular wood type for flooring in Scandinavian homes, especially due to its light expression and natural warmth.

Pine is categorized as a softwood floor, and is more susceptible to signs of use. However, these marks are easy to rectify with maintenance, and often most soft marks can disappear with just a floor wash or refreshing of the oil.

On the Brinell scale, which measures the wood's resistance to pressure and wear, pine typically ranks around 1.6–1.8 – depending on growth location and wood density. This means that pine is more susceptible to pressure marks, scratches, and other signs of use than harder wood types like oak or ash. Although pine is a softwood, many choose it for its natural charm and ability to develop a beautiful patina over time. With the right treatment, you can extend the life of the floor and give it a surface that is more resistant to everyday use.
