Pine Living 22x185 Lye & White Oil

Specifications and guide

Product Description

Pine Living 22x185 with Lye and White Oil - Bright and distinctive pine floor with a natural finish.
A wide-dimension pine floor that combines classic warmth with a bright and modern look. The light treatment with lye and white oil prevents yellowing, highlights the wood's natural grain, and provides a beautiful, matte surface – ideal for those who want a Scandinavian wooden floor with both lightness and depth.

With a plank width of 22x185 mm, you get a floor with a calm and exclusive appearance. The width provides a harmonious feel in the room, while the floor appears lively thanks to the Living sorting, which allows for larger knots and natural fillings, giving a more rustic and vibrant expression than the finer Prima sorting. Perfect for those who want a natural floor with clear wood structure and lots of personality.

This floor is for you if you are looking for a bright pine floor with personality and natural charm – an expression that suits both modern new builds and older homes with soul.

To ensure a functional and aesthetically pleasing floor, thus preserving the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface, this wood type will feature filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted wood filler and/or hotmelt. Similarly, fallen knots may be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood type, so that color tone and structure are preserved. A Wiking pine plank floor is warm and pleasant to walk on, and has a natural play with knots and rounded edges that highlight the width of the beautiful planks. Pine is a classic and popular wood type for floors in Scandinavian homes, especially due to its bright appearance and natural warmth.

Pine is categorized as a softwood floor and is more susceptible to signs of wear. However, these marks are easy to rectify with maintenance, and often most soft marks can disappear with just a floor wash or refreshing of the oil.

On the Brinell scale, which measures the wood's resistance to pressure and wear, pine typically ranges around 1.6–1.8 – depending on the growing site and wood density. This means that pine is more susceptible to pressure marks, scratches, and other signs of wear than harder wood types like oak or ash. Although pine is a soft wood type, many choose it for its natural charm and ability to beautifully patina over time. With the right treatment, you can extend the life of the floor and give it a surface that is more resistant to everyday use.
