Specifications and guide
Oak Mammut Freja – wide and long planks in a calm sorting.
With an oak floor from Wiking Gulve, you get the classic beauty and strength of solid wood – in a stable, multi-layered solution. Oak Mammut Freja is made from carefully selected oak and has a calm and harmonious sorting, which gives the floor an elegant and timeless look.
The Freja sorting is characterized by a uniform appearance with discreet grain patterns and minimal knot play – perfect for those who want a stylish floor with a calm, Nordic touch.
Oak Mammut Freja is part of our exclusive Mammut series, which offers extra wide and long planks. The impressive plank size creates a sense of spaciousness and luxury in any room and highlights the natural structure and glow of the oak.
Oak is a tough and durable wood type that is particularly well-suited for floors in both private homes and commercial properties. The natural play of colors ranges from light, golden tones to warm brownish shades, and the brushed surface with soft, rounded edges gives the floor an exclusive and pleasant expression.
If you want a more distinct expression with lively play and more pronounced grain patterns, we recommend taking a closer look at our Oak Mammut Fenris.
Your Mammut planks are delivered untreated from Wiking Gulve and must be surface treated after installation and before use. We are, of course, available to provide good advice in this regard.
Due to the dimensions and weight of the planks, please be aware that the installation itself may be more difficult. It is crucial that the planks are surface treated and saturated after installation. This ensures that the wood is protected and easier to clean. Wood is a natural material, and no two planks are alike. Therefore, there will always be a beautiful variation in color and knot play. We always recommend that you carefully inspect the planks during installation to ensure the desired look on the finished surface.
Oak is one of the most widely used and valued wood types for floors – and for good reason. In addition to its classic and timeless appearance, oak is known for its high durability and hardness. On the Brinell scale, which measures the wood's resistance to pressure, oak typically ranges around 3.5 - 3.7. This places oak as a hard wood type, suitable for both private homes and businesses where durability is required.
To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, preserving the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface, this wood type will feature filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted wood filler and/or hotmelt. Similarly, fallen knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood type, so that color tone and structure are maintained.
