Specifications and guide

Product Description

Ash Prestige Atlantic 15x235 Frost Matlak – wide planks with lively grain and light finish.
With an ash floor from Wiking Gulve, you get all the natural properties of a solid wood floor – in a multi-layered solution. Our ash floors have rounded edges, which highlight the width of each plank and the floor's exclusive appearance. The plank floors are made from exquisite Danish ash – a beautiful, light wood with a characteristic structure of brownish to reddish heartwood.

Ash Prestige Atlantic 15x235 Frost Matlak is an exclusive ash floor with extra wide planks, creating an elegant and striking look in the rooms of the home. The great width provides a calm overall impression, while the variation in the planks adds plenty of life and personality.

In the Atlantic sorting, you will find a natural and lively grain with clear knots, brown heartwood, and fillings. The planks vary greatly in color and structure, giving you a unique opportunity to mix and match them, thereby creating a floor that is truly your own.

The surface is treated with Frost Matlak, which enhances the natural structure of the ash and provides a light, matte finish. The lacquer also effectively protects against wear and dirt, making the floor both beautiful and practical in everyday life.

Ash wood is known for its high durability and is one of the hardest light wood types used for flooring. On the Brinell scale, which measures the hardness of wood, ash typically scores around 3.6 - 3.8 – making it harder than both oak and pine. The high hardness makes ash floors extremely resistant to pressure marks, scratches, and daily wear. Ash is therefore an obvious choice for floors in homes with high traffic, families with children, or rooms where furniture is often moved around.

To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, so that the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface are preserved, this wood type will feature the filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted fine filler and/or hotmelt. Likewise, fallen knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood type, so that color tone and structure are maintained.

The wood's light color and clear grain give a modern look and at the same time hide minor scratches and dust better than dark floors. With the right treatment, an ash floor can remain beautiful for many years and retain its light and elegant appearance.
