With an ash floor from Wiking Gulve, you get all the natural properties of a solid wood floor – in an engineered solution. Our ash floors have rounded edges, which highlight the width of the individual planks and the exclusive look of the floor. The plank floors are made from exquisite Danish ash – a beautiful, light wood with a characteristic grain in brownish to reddish heartwood.

Ash Country Life 15x185 Frost Matlak is an exclusive ash floor that combines Nordic strength with a vibrant, natural look. 
Ash wood has a beautiful grain and a play of colours that can vary from light shades to darker brown heartwood.

In the Country grading, you get a floor with a distinctive and lively character, where knots and fillings emphasize the wood's natural characteristics. 
This creates a warm and authentic floor that adds plenty of soul to the home.

The surface is treated with frost matte lacquer, which gives the floor an extra light and modern finish. The lacquer effectively protects against dirt, wear, and daily stress, while highlighting the natural grain of the ash.

Ash wood is known for its high durability and is one of the hardest light wood species used for flooring. On the Brinell scale, which measures wood hardness, ash typically scores around 3.6 - 3.8 – making it harder than both oak and pine. The high hardness makes ash floors particularly resistant to pressure marks, scratches, and daily wear. Ash is therefore an excellent choice for floors in high-traffic homes, families with children, or rooms where furniture is often moved.

To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, preserving the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface, this wood species will feature the filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted wood filler and/or hotmelt. Similarly, fallen knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood species, thus preserving colour tone and structure.

The wood's light colour and distinct grain give a modern look and at the same time hide small scratches and dust better than dark floors. With the right treatment, an ash floor can stay beautiful for many years and retain its light and elegant appearance.
