Ash Country Life 15x185 Frost Matt Lacquer – exclusive, durable ash wood flooring.

With an ash floor from Wiking Gulve, you get all the natural properties of a solid wood floor – in an engineered solution. Our ash floors have rounded edges, which emphasize the width of each plank and the exclusive look of the floor. The plank floors are made from exquisite Danish ash – a beautiful, light wood with a characteristic structure ranging from brownish to reddish heartwood.

Ash Country Life 15x185 Frost Matt Lacquer is an ash wood floor that combines natural strength with a modern look. Ash is a Nordic hardwood, which makes the floor more durable and resistant than many other types of wood.

The Country grading provides a vibrant floor with clear color variations, natural knots, and variations from the light wood to the darker brown heartwood. The result is a warm and inviting floor with a lot of character.

The surface is treated with frost matt lacquer, which enhances the natural structure of the ash and provides a matt, light finish. The lacquer also protects against dirt and daily wear, so the floor remains beautiful and easy to maintain.

Ash wood is known for its high wear resistance and is one of the hardest light woods used for flooring. On the Brinell scale, which measures wood hardness, ash typically scores around 3.6 - 3.8 – making it harder than both oak and pine. The high hardness makes ash floors particularly resistant to pressure marks, scratches, and daily wear. Ash is therefore an obvious choice for floors in high-traffic homes, families with children, or rooms where furniture is often moved around.

To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, thus preserving the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface, this wood type will feature filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted sand filler and/or hotmelt. Similarly, fallen knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood type, so that color tone and structure are preserved.

The wood's light color and clear grain provide a modern look and at the same time hide minor scratches and dust better than dark floors. With the right treatment, an ash floor can remain beautiful for many years and retain its light and elegant appearance.
