Wiking Pitch Pine

This beautiful American pine variety is distinguished by being largely knot-free. The grain is strongly marked with light and dark stripes. Pitch Pine, which has the Latin name Pinus Rigida, grows in the western part of the USA, where it is also called Southern Yellow Pine. The trees grow to about 40 meters tall and almost 1 meter in diameter, which makes it possible to produce wide and long plank floors from the tree trunks. Previously, Pitch Pine was an important source of resin and wood for shipbuilding, mine timber, and railway sleepers, because the wood's high resin content protects it from decay. Archaeology also indicates that Native Americans used Pitch Pine, with the Cherokee, for example, using it in canoe construction.

The plank floors delivered to this home are surface-treated with lye and white oil, which makes the floor exclusive and stylish. A Wiking Gulv (Wiking Floor) must withstand life in the home. We take great pride in ensuring that the floors can benefit everyone in the room, including children, family, pets, and friends. It is quite simple to preserve the unique appearance of your Wiking Gulv for many years; it only requires proper cleaning and care of wooden floors. With correct maintenance, the floor remains beautiful, durable, and dirt-repellent. When purchasing Pitch Pine with a lye and white oil finish, the floor should be treated with Trip Trap Oil Care White after installation and before use. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions.

For daily cleaning and maintenance, we recommend using Trip Trap Natural Soap White. Every 5th wash, it is recommended to use Trip Trap Oil Soap White. The oil soap adds a little oil during floor washing, which penetrates the wood and forms a matte protective film on the wooden floor's surface.
