Anders and Lene have spent a little more money on choosing "the right" materials from the start, so that they will last for many years, and it was therefore an important parameter that the floor had a 4 mm wear layer so that it can be sanded a few times when the children have grown up and the floor might need to be "freshened up".

We fell for a Douglas plank floor because it is pleasant to walk on barefoot and because it blends perfectly with the raw nature outside.

Douglas fir is a very durable and oily wood, originally derived from North-West America, but was introduced into Danish forestry in the 1860s. A Douglas plank floor has a beautiful, reddish annual drawing, which clearly appears as many associate with an exclusive look.
