The Mammut floor is supplied untreated, so you can choose the finish that suits your home.

Pitch Pine is one of the most robust softwood species and has impressive durability compared to other softer wood types. This makes the floor ideal for living rooms, bedrooms, or the busier kitchen-dining areas. To ensure a functional and aesthetic floor, thus preserving the strength and visual integrity of the floor surface, this wood type will feature filling of cracks and knots with specially adapted sand filler and/or hotmelt. Similarly, fallen out knots can be replaced with fresh "new" knots adapted to the wood type, so that color tone and structure are preserved.

This wood type may show hairline cracks (up to 0.5 mm in width) upon delivery. Due to the grain patterns, this wood type is also exposed to future crack development if you are not extra careful to saturate the surface with oil or soap after installation and before use, as well as with subsequent care and maintenance.

When it comes to hardness, Pitch Pine is at the harder end among softwoods. On the Brinell scale, it typically measures around 2.8–3.0, making it harder than, for example, pine and Douglas fir, but still softer than hard hardwoods like oak and ash.

This hardness makes Pitch Pine more durable and resistant to pressure marks than most other softwoods,
making it suitable for both private homes and light commercial use.

Read more in our data sheet.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0892/5328/2139/files/WikingGulvePitchPineMammuttraegulve.jpg?v=1753178551
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0892/5328/2139/collections/Wiking_Gulve_pitch_pine_traegulv.jpg?v=1758631837
